Artist Bio

Niyati Jiwani is a contemporary landscape painter based in Atlanta, Georgia, whose semi-abstract paintings explore the emotional and atmospheric essence of nature. Working primarily in acrylics and oils, she creates evocative landscapes through expressive brushwork, layered textures, and harmonious color palettes that invite moments of stillness, reflection, and connection.

Born in Mumbai, India, Niyati discovered her passion for art in college when she took a figure drawing class. Although life’s responsibilities led her to pursue a different career, art remained close to her heart. When she returned to painting, she explored energetic abstract expression, which helped her reconnect with her creativity. Over time, she began creating semi-abstract landscapes as a way to balance her expressive energy with a deeper sense of peace and calm.

Niyati holds two bachelor’s degrees and a master’s degree in Literature. With a background in education, she spent many years teaching literature and art while continuing to nurture her own artistic practice. Committed to developing her skills, she participated in workshops and classes and completed a certified one-year course at the Milan Art Institute, where she explored new techniques, tools, and materials that continue to inform her work.

Since making Georgia her home, Niyati has drawn inspiration from its diverse landscapes, particularly the Blue Ridge Mountains and Smoky Mountains, with their mist-covered ridges, ancient forests, winding rivers, and cascading waterfalls. Rather than depicting specific locations, she seeks to capture their emotional presence, transforming the experience of nature into contemplative landscapes where memory, atmosphere, and imagination converge.

Niyati has exhibited her work throughout the United States, including at Art Expo New York, The Other Art Fair as well as in numerous juried exhibitions and gallery shows. Her paintings are held in private and corporate collections across the United States and internationally. Through her work, she hopes to offer viewers a lasting sense of tranquility, renewal, and connection with the natural world.
